Inspired by the legendary and classic furniture designs from the British Colonial Campaign era and by designs salvaged from great luxury ocean liners headed for the ship-breakers in India, the STARBAY concept was born in late 1990.

Ten years later as the supply of Rosewood inevitably dwindles, we recognized the need to expand the collection using different materials and inspiration.

Our mission is to design and manufacture the highest quality desks, tables, chests and trunks and to capture and re-live the spirit and the legend of Modernism or Avant Guardism.

Avant Garde is reminiscent of 1930’s Parisian Art Deco and the glamorous era of 30’s and 40’s movie stars. The collection will evoke images of lights dancing across a nighttime Paris sky as you stroll down the Champs Elysee or the gentle crashing of waves as they roll on shore in front of your balcony on South Beach.

We use only the noblest materials to reflect the strength and beauty of that bygone era and to echo our commitment to quality and attention to detail:

• American black walnut (grown and logged under stringent environmental controls) translates beautifully to our current and new designs.
• Solid brass chromed handles, screws, locks, corners, nails and hinges.
• Fine leather handles and accessories.
• Hand crafted knobs made of element of Austrian full cut Strass.
• And finally, a glossy layer of hand applied finish, turning this exquisite work of carpentry into a ‘’masterpiece’’.

STARBAY furniture, once only available in one shop in France, now can be found in the best stores across Europe, The United States, Africa, Russia, China and Japan.
